markettiers4dc take Best Use of Broadcast award at last night's PRWeek Awards.

"We told the world that Sarah Fairclough killed her grandmother" was the headline grabbing entry for the Best Use of Broadcast category at the PRWeek awards last night and it did the trick in bringing to the judges' attention the fantastic 'Pill Crushing' campaign that we carried out on behalf of Rosemont Pharmaceuticals.

Research shows 60% of older people have trouble swallowing medication and yet physicians fail to take this into account when prescribing treatment. Furthermore a staggering 80% of nursing staff in care homes admit to crushing pills or opening capsules to make them easier to take. However this seemingly harmless practise can be dangerous and in some cases even fatal because of administering a dosage at potentially too high a rate.  Working with JSPR, markettiers4dc used broadcast media to disseminate this information to both healthcare professionals and the general public as a matter of life and death.
